Estate Signature: A signature that looks printed or stamped is usually an estate signature and should not be confused with a collector’s mark.  Estate signatures are placed on the artist’s unsigned works by the executors of his estate. Upon the artist’s death, these signatures label everything within the artist’s collection as authentic.

This is a practice that is common among all deceased artists who leave behind works, ie Picasso, Van Gogh, etc.
